Title: Where have all the engines gone?
Post by Dave on 08/07/13 at 06:21:54

I take a tour through eBay about once a week.....it entertains me more than "Dancing with the Stars" or "America Has Talent".

Lately I have noticed that all the LS650/S40 engines are gone!  Not a single engine is currently listed.  Pinwall Cycles and several other places always had engines from Salvage bikes available and there was always about 4-6 engines on the site at a time.....and on most of the engines came from bikes that appeared to have been run headfirst into something that bent the front wheel and forks.

Where are the engines going?

How many of us have a spare engine tucked away?   Naw, that's not enough engines ....

Is there a frame kit available for the Savage now that could provide a VIN number and title to a scrapped out bike?

Is RYCA buying them up?

Isn't it time for the conspiracy theorists to pop out of the bushes and say it is all a plot? Take away the ZDDP from the oil so the engines will fail, then the used engines get reused and fail, and Behold! Only new EPA-compliant machines will be on the road. Sort of what Cash-for-Clunkers did to the used car market.

One engine has come up for sale.  It has a broken engine mount on the head cover......not a big deal.

Pardon the short highjack...

JOG,.. try here...(you do have PC, right?)...
http://download.cnet.com/IrfanView/?part=dl-IrfanView&subj=dl&tag=button
click download...  once it's downloaded... double-click on the file... it will install...
If it asks you during the install,.. choose to associate all image files...

It really is the best, and easiest picture program out there...
Well worth the trouble.... ;)...

Short highjack OK.....this is a nonsense thread anyhow.

Just out of curiosity I hit "SELLERS OTHER ITEMS" on this engine listing.

The guy has 67,000 things for sale on eBay!  How long does it take to list 67 thousand things?  If it took 10 minutes to photograph and list each item......that is still 11,000 hours!

That is a lot of things...

Speaking of things,... I just got another free LED flashlight from Harbor Freight...
I think I have 9 of them now...  :-?...
I just sit around in the evening, looking for an excuse to point a flashlight at something...
;D ;D ;D...

Serow......

Get enough helium balloons to lift nine flashlights, some string......wait for a clear night......then tie the balloons about 100 feet apart.....and put an LED flashlight hanging down from the string about every 10 feet.  Then get downwind from a major city......and let it go just after dark!  (Can you make the LED lights flash?) ;D

Helium balloons dont lift much, so you may want to drill away as much of those flashlites as possible, pull lenses off, whatever to make them liter,,& wipe yer danged prints off EVERYthing,,
