Title: front disc
Post by savagebob on 08/05/13 at 21:19:04

Does anyone know of a large dia front break disc which fits?

Unless you can move the caliper, the disk diameter is set.

there is no common bolt pattern for the disk, but it is flat so you can make what ever size you want.

and while you're at it, make an adapter for the caliper.

There was a fellow that posted a picture of a bike that he had installed a Ninga 250 or 300 brake rotor on the Savage.  He said he was making  the adapters.....but I forget where the photo was and where I saw it...and who he was.

Pretty helpful....aren't I!  Mabye somone else will remember.

making a caplier space wouldn't be difficult, I was thinking it's likely a larger disc off something else fitted. But perhaps not or someone here would know about it surely.

Perhaps the easiest mod would be to fit a "left side" fork sheath on the right fork, in order to fit a second caliper (yes, it would be upside down compared to the original caliper)

That way, two OEM discs on two OEM calipers... may look horrible, but only when parked. While riding, nobody stoops down to look at your calipers...

Then all you need is a brake pump off a Bandit and brake lines for siamesed front discs...  ;)

Adding a second caliper will make it necessary to find a front wheel hub that works.  The stock Savage hub will only work with a single disc on one side.

OK, so how 'bout running twin wheels and siamesed front forks ?

;D
