I'd love to the prisons at 1/4 capacity. I'm 58 and marijuana should be legalized in all 50 states. I'm not crazy about legalizing cocaine, crystal meth, etc.

I've watched the whole video now and it makes a lot of sense. I still stand behind my thoughts about legalizing the harder drugs. Start with Marijuana and see how it goes from there. Cocaine and Heroin are instantly addictive. We don't need more addicts on the streets.

Legalize all of it. BUt dont make me responsible for taking care of people who get strung out,
How many here would runb right out & buy some heroin if it was legal?
Id bet Not one,, Cocaine? maybe a few, I wouldnt smoke pot if someone showed up here & told me they had The best Stuff on the PLanet & I could have an ounce for free.. I just dont like the stuff.. It would eliminate SO much illegal activity if it ws just legal,,

I'm 63 and I believe m/j should be legal just like alcohol and with the same requirements and restrictions.
It IS helpful for migraines, muscle spasms, fibromyalgia, sleep, and a general feeling of Well Being.   :)
I'm not offended at being called a nut.
Nuts are hard and strong, and are one of the most densely nutritious foods on the planet.  They are wonderfully unique.  8-)

Pot does nothing for me, even the medical grade stuff I could get when I lived in a state with the cards.

Worked at a bike shop that tied to pay us in crystal meth instead of cash. Got fired, not a tweaker.

Heroin? Been there, tried that, somebody else can have my share. Same with cocaine.

I'll stick with caffeine and nicotine.

Make the stuff legal, we could use the tax money generated from the sales for something worthwhile. And anybody dumb enough to overdose deserves what they get, dehydrated and ground up for fertilizer...

Legalizing pot is a no brainer,... and tax the tar out of it like tobacco...  You could fund healthcare with that cash...

Harder drugs,... might be a good idea, too...
Sometimes the right thing is actually cheaper...
Legalization,... would destroy cartels, and drug crime would all but disappear... prisons would empty, and crime would drop...
Offering limited drugs, under medical supervision, at a higher cost than a methadone treatment program, would help identify addicts, get them treatment, and get them back into society and working...
Very likely cheaper in the long run...
Treat it as a medical problem, rather than a crime...
JMHO...

I took 3 drags of some insanely good MJ after 2 beers yesterday ...
Lost 4 hours ... was in the garage going @ the crap packing and tossing in the truck like a gerbil on crack ... and then poof ... sleepy town ... felt like designing my new house ... decided to shower, forgot  to shave (probably for the best) and just chilled out.

I cant do harder drugs ... so legalize it and I wont be doing any thing else ...
But WTF, I can easily see how the rest of society will go crackhead on the rest of us. Can not be good. Hell NO.

Pot ... that's where the buck stops.
I have toked up 100's of times, and dont feel the itch the next day.

Cool.
Srinath.

By Sari Horwitz and Matt Zapotosky, Monday, August 12, 5:06 PM
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.’s proposed prison reforms drew praise from criminal justice experts Monday, but some critics said the proposals do not go far enough to begin overhauling a costly and broken law enforcement system.
In an effort to reduce the population of the nation’s overflowing federal prisons, Holder directed his 94 U.S. attorneys across the country to stop charging low-level, nonviolent drug offenders with offenses that impose severe mandatory sentences.
