Title: Carb jet kit Post by dan49829 on 07/22/13 at 08:14:45 I just installed a 6Sigma jet kit in my 06 S40. It's still backfiring, and I can't seem to get the mixture screw set right. With the mixture screw fully seated, I have the highest rpm, turning it counterclockwise, the rpm's begin to drop at about 1 1/4 turns. Loud backfire on deceleration, and a poof at shutdown Pilot Jet 57.5 Main 150 added two metal spacers under the e-clip for a total of 3 metal spacers under it. Altitude is about 600' here Stock muffler has two 1/2' holes drilled in the end |
Title: Re: Carb jet kit Post by PhantomII on 07/22/13 at 08:23:24 I installed the same kit this weekend 57.5 pilot, 150 main, 2.5 turns out, and no washers mine only backfires once in a while I live 48' above sea level and my stock muffler has 8 1/4" holes drilled in it and stock air filter. I don't know if you can get rid of all the backfires or not if you can I would like to know what else I can do if not I can live with it the way it is now. |
Title: Re: Carb jet kit Post by verslagen1 on 07/22/13 at 08:23:45 poof at shut down and no adjustability, sounds like you should go to a 55 bang at shift is usually a header/muff air leak you have 2 holes drilled in the end, not sure if that's the cause. or you got your idle speed set to low or your tev needs cleaning |
Title: Re: Carb jet kit Post by dan49829 on 07/22/13 at 08:47:13 Thank you! I'll start with the idle setting since that's the easiest, but what is the TEV? |
