Title: New to the S40 World - With PICS Post by Nailz on 07/18/13 at 14:51:42 I picked up a 2006 S40 with 10K miles last Monday for a great price. The engine runs great, but the Jardine exhaust needs some hush-hush put to it. I've seen a few posts on ways to quiet it down, so I have it off with the baffle removed for now. I'll sort it out soon. It is missing the right side cover which I found on ebay and it is on the way. I still need the chrome cover that I believe would cover the tool bag on the same side. Is that what it covers? Thanks! |

Title: Re: New to the S40 World Post by Nailz on 07/18/13 at 16:13:14 I might end up doing that if my idea doesn't work. |

Has a lock #22 that works w/ignition key. Might need #23 and #16 depending on what you're missing. Try to find someone on here that's got take off parts before you buy new. New is a little bit pricey for what this stuff is IMO. |
Title: Re: New to the S40 World Post by Nailz on 07/18/13 at 18:09:33 Thanks for the link. I bought one from a forum member. We'll see what else I need after it gets here. I'm just glad that the bike runs great. |

Title: Re: New to the S40 World Post by verslagen1 on 07/19/13 at 08:25:04 Try to get a key with the same letter on it then you'll be able to get it rekeyed to use the ig key. but since the box is low security anyway, a couple of pins is enough. see tool box rekeying in the tech section. |
Title: Re: New to the S40 World Post by Nailz on 07/19/13 at 14:05:55 I bought this bike for my wife to "move up to" so to speak. She currently has a 2007 Virago 250 and we have done multiple 100+ mile rides on the scenic Georgia back roads. I will post a few pics so you get a better idea. This is a learning bike. She loves the torque compared to the Virago already. A new rear tire goes on tomorrow. This bike will be for sale so we can get a newer cleaner version of the S40. |
Title: Re: New to the S40 World Post by Nailz on 07/19/13 at 14:34:16 A few of my past rides... but certainly not all of them! I am leaving out my Tupperware Torpedo craze bikes. This is a 2005 1200 Sportster Custom. A really nice bike. I put 10,000 miles on it and it was a great scooter. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/6f6e2c7f-3896-494c-864c-82ec77f48788_zps38959f68.jpg My current Scooter. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/Fatboy2_zpsf44cb157.jpg Installing the EFI controller on my Fatboy http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/2013-Fatboy-Stripped_zpsb6bc1928.jpg My Dyna Wide Glide http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/Side3.jpg Another shot because this bike was sweet! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/Side2.jpg This was an 883 I picked up and put 10,000 miles on. Nice ride. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/2006-883.jpg This was a bike I got such a good deal on it was crazy. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/750-Vulcan1.jpg This was a Buell Blast I bought with less than 200 miles on it. My son put almost 9000 miles on it and we sold it for what we paid for it. A very under rated bike in my opinion. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/Buell1.jpg This was a DRZ400 I bought and put 10,000 miles on it. Great bike, but not freeway friendly. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/2007-1-DRZ-1.jpg This was my Road King I called Oprah. Really nice bike and I loved it when I had it. I put 28,000 + miles on it I believe. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/Road-King-75.jpg Mommy's hot rod! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/Passenger-Side.jpg My ZRX1100 - I built this with cams and every go fast part going at the time. It was an awesome ride. I believe I put 24,000 miles on it. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/ZRX1100.jpg A pic of my son when he was 14 riding one of my Wide Glides. He thought he was cool... I believe he was! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/KenMan-WideGlide.jpg Here is a pic of that Wide Glide http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/01-Wide-Glide.jpg Here is a pic of my Wife's Virago. Soon to be sold and a new S40 to be purchased. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ken-man/DSCF3476_zps3cabe1f1.jpg If you made it this far, thanks for looking! |

Title: Re: New to the S40 World - With PICS Post by Nailz on 07/19/13 at 16:18:37 I am not tall, but I do love motorcycles. My motto: Ride as many as you can, Live the experience, post pics if you have them! 4 wheels moves the body.... 2 wheels moves the soul! |
