Title: Oil change
Post by Toroso on 07/08/13 at 09:34:17

Where am I most likely to find an oil filter? Do auto parts places carry these or do I need to go to a dealership? Or?

Check on line at Bike Bandit and Ron Ayers and Motorcycle Superstore for the best prices.

Buy 5 or 6 at a shot to make the shipping worthwhile.

I used "2000"  'cause you have put something in the "YEAR" box when you do the search, but the filters are the same for all years.

A Suzuki dealer will likely charge you around $15 for the same filter.

Old, link isn't working ....

Sometimes the page is available in YOUR computer's "saved web page" cache, and the rest of us just go whistle fer it because they moved it or changed it ....

But my dealer, Sloans powersports in Murfreesboro, TN only charged me $5 dollars the last time I bought a filter from them. :o

if you're payin' $15 for a single hiflo brand filter and not several... ask'm for some lube while you're bent over the barrel.

exactly. which is why mine come from bike bandit. But the ones at the dealer ARE all lined up on a shelf in pretty Suzuki boxes ... ;) Right next to the bottles of oil that we shouldn't use in our bikes.

I got mine from my local dealer it was only $5.75 + tax.

The dealer parts list shows that it is $ 5.86.....plus tax.  I have found the price changes a bit from what is online to the actual selling price, but not a great deal.

I'm having a heck of time tracking down these oil filter o-rings. Anybody got a part number or size or something?

Thanks

Post by apache snow on 07/11/13 at 06:54:42

Here you go. The o-rings are part 10 and 12.

Ah! Thank you very much. When pulling the battery out I noticed that many of the screws have been 'tortured'  ;D When looking for replacements there are designations for K2/K3,K4,T/V,W/X,Y/K1. How do I know which is mine? Is this the same as the year code in the VIN?

Title: Re: Oil change
Post by apache snow on 07/11/13 at 07:23:12

Thats for different years. The screws are all the same.

LS650-V/W/X/Y/K1/K2/K3
