Title: New To Riding
Post by keith on 07/06/13 at 20:45:07

I just bought my first motorcycle a few weeks ago.  I have never been on a bike in my life, but now I am completely addicted to it.  I would rather be on it then in my truck any day of the week.  I had wanted to buy one for years along with my soon to be ex wife, but we never got around to it.  So in a desperate attempt to find something that could make me smile again, I went and got a bike.

For me it has been my salvation.  The divorce has nearly destroyed everything about me, somehow the bike has started to allow me to get it back.  I even went on a date.  Let me say that it has been a long time since something felt as good as riding with a beautiful girl behind me holding on.  Here is to a new start and a new life on the bike.

Over 1000miles in a 2 weeks before ever considering, and nothing over 35 with someone on the back .

2 weeks riding... all your skills aren't there yet.
don't get over confident and make sure she's wearing protection.
last thing you want on your conscience is to put a hurt on her.

Helmet, jacket, boots required for us both at all times.  I am very cautious at all times by myself or otherwise.

Take a professional riding course, it will pay good dividends.

Welcome to the fold.. yep.. love to ride the bike.. mostly to work versus taking my truck.

Dont worry about the crusties... we bark but seldom bite except down in TT.

Calm the beasts with pics... you.. the bike.. but mostly the girl... yeah that tames them...

make sure she knows to never lean over to look around you, it can cause you to change course unexpectedly.,.

Wait, are we still talking about the bike or the date?

Welcome Keith!!! I got this bike for my wife and I to ride together when we can find a sitter for the kids. Weekend getaways and once in a blue moon excursions. Car broke down and now I ride to work daily and have that smile you talk about every day.
