Really?... even Webby?... ;D...

Just don't set my city on fire...
We're beyond kindling here...

I got a ton a of 'tater salad,...baked beans,... and corn on the cob,... ... can't decide between bbq chicken and hotdogs...
... maybe ... both!...
:)...

Funny,... the older I get, the more holidays revolve around food...
:-?...

I can not think of one holiday that does not revolve around food. Except maybe the Mexicans Day of the Dead holiday. And if you just happen to be a zombie, then you would have to include that day also as a foody.
Serowbot, You made my stomach grumble. That sound delicious!  Baked beans and potato salad with corn on the cob, a hot dog or hamburger , a ice cold beer is what the 4th is all about!

Would that be BBQ'd watermelon, or Kentucky fried watermelon ?

Hudson's Bay Baked Bean recipe:
Start a hardwood fire. While it's burning down to coals, dig a hole big enough to line with coals and hold a good sized food safe pail with lid or a large pot with lid.
In the pot put a layer of beans, salt and pepper, a layer of bacon, and sprinkle with maple sugar, another layer of beans, bacon, sugar, and so on till the pot is full.
Put a layer of coals on the bottom of the hole, the pail in, surround the pail with coals, and bury the whole thing.
Four or five hours later, dig it up, and enjoy the best beans you have ever tasted. :P

coolest cookout i EVER saw,,

dude got a back hoe & burlap sacks & wood & corrugated tin, dug a hole a few feet deep, about 8 feet long & 4 wide, got her burnin good, dropped tin on it, tossed on wetted bags, loaded with meat, more tin, some dirt, more wood, let that burn down,, when they dug it up, it was fabulous,,

now,, i gotta say, i couldnt do that,, id never get it right. they musta buried at least 60 pounds, can you imagine, doin all that, diggin it up &
you didnt get it cooked ? or worse,,  heck,, a guy can always cook somethin more,, but its tuff as heck tryin to UN-cook something about 15 minutes worth,,, & dont ask me how i know.

Was listening to the news this morn... seems that July 4th may become "independence day.. for yet another country.

We did almost no celebrating, and eating was sparse
Burbon Chicken
Garlic potatoes
Vidalia onions ( sp) just cooked down with butter and Tony Chacheries

Oh and I made the 'nanna puddin'  ( Banana pudding)

washed down with local made wine.
