What all do I need to swap from stock bull horns to 10" or more apes or possibly high risers with drags?

I had barely enough wire/cable to re-route to my 10" mini-apes.  I had to replace the brake hose.  I also trimmed about 1.3" off the ends as it was too wide for me.

Any more than 10" and you really need longer clutch and throttle cables. Get in touch with Lancer, he is our site's best bet for getting the right parts the first time. You can use a stock VN750 or VN800A clutch cable, but the throttle cable is an oddball, best ask him to order what you need.

And if you intend to run 12" or taller rise, either buy quality risers or pin your bar and riser caps. The Savage parts have weak holding ability against apehanger bar knurling, which is the wider spread Harley spec, just barely catches in the stock narrow spread risers.

I have 15s on my 98 Savage. Bars have been pinned for over a decade. First with 13.5" rise, then swapped to 15s in 2005.
