Are the oil filters the same for all the years or are the ones for the 80's different from the 90's up?

I guess someone should answer sqeak's question.

The oil filter is the same through all LS650/Savage/S40 models.

Just wanted to be sure. I just ordered a new filter with gaskets and spring. And again I am going to run as far away from an oil discussion as my one good leg will take me.

The problem with having one good leg is that it tends to cause a guy to make a circle,, running makes it worse,, Suggest you just whistle on past the graveyard & pretend you dont see/
