Post by Serowbot on 05/30/13 at 16:18:27 Forecast is 100+ every day from here on out... ... so, yesterday I found a bad cv joint in my car,... was gonna' take the bike for groceries today, but the battery is stone dead,... and 2 minutes ago, as I sit here, the bottom of a large 26x30" picture frame fell off the wall right in front of me... I'm a'freared to move... :-/... Everything chooses the 100+ weather to fall apart... Is there some astrological sucky alignment happening or what?... :-?... |

Post by justin_o_guy2 on 05/31/13 at 16:20:46 For riding in heat I prefer a lightish long sleeve, like a denim shirt, not quite as heavy as a welders shirt, with a Tee shirt under. Run the hose till its not squirting boiling water & wet down from the waist up, hit the pant thighs & outside of calves. Carry a coupla water bottles to re-wet & a pump up sports mister. They can be strapped on the bike with the nozzle clipped handy. YOu can re-wet the chest area at a light,, Of course a full face, flat black helmet with a skull & X-bones on the back yea,, thats whatchya need.. |

We had an F1 tornado drop out of the sky with zero warning and flatten a community up the road from us. Maybe 8 miles away. Lots of downdrafts and microbursts in our area, neighbor's shed looks like a taco now... And one of the churches on the road to town had a bunch of the oaks in the church yard yanked out of the ground and turned into kindling. The 2.5" of rain in under 24 hours probably didn't help anything either... |

Post by justin_o_guy2 on 06/03/13 at 01:05:24 I can handle rain, I can handle heat & Im set up with clothes to make riding in cold tolerable for a while, and theres only so much wind anyone can take & the thot of being caught out with no cover when hail hits has always been one of those things I dont even address, cuz if it happens, theres just nothing a guy can do. Weather is a serious element to deal with. Dang stuff can be deadly. |
