Title: Bike will not turn on!
Post by trini tuner on 05/21/13 at 07:48:25

So heres the story, the bike started and ran fine just yesterday, last night there was a good rain storm so much so that my garage floor was wet where i park the bike. I woke up this morning to go ride and the garage floor was still wet in some places. I get on the bike and go to turn key, rock bike, hold in clutch etc. but it wont start! No noises not even the headlight is on but taillight is. I think the switches (controls)
got some humidity in it so i have the bike outside in the sun now. This has happened before when the bike was left outside overnight and it rained and what i did was play with the kickstand and switch till i heard it try to crank. Has this happened to anyone?

Tail light on but no headlight, is the key set to PARK instead of on?   :o

:) I tried that, the key is definetly on when i try to start it up. I think i might have to pull the gas tank and check the fuse box if it wont start up today soon.

Well im pretty certain i found the issue, I went outside to take a look at it again and what do you know theres a yellow colored clip under the gas tank that got disconnected!

Edit:

Well it started up again!  ;D  I plugged in the yellow colored bundle of wires going to the headlight and that turned on. Then i had to just play with the kickstand and engine turn on switch to get it started.

I believe the yellow colored clip is on he left side near the coil.  It carries the electric up to the left handlebar control, horn, headlight and turn signals.  Without it the clutch cutout switch won't be active.....and none of the front lights.
