Title: Ryca speedometer - lost connection
Post by Holly on 05/04/13 at 15:52:18

Riding home from work the other night the speedometer stopped working. In the process of messing around with it I managed to blow the main fuse killing everything - I know that now after pulling off seat, side panels, pull the battery, etc.

I get a current through the speedo when I attach it straight to the battery but I'm still suspicious about the loose-ish connection into the unit itself.

Closed the loop through to the tach (without the speedo) and it works fine again too.

I can't see a good way to open the speedo to look at the inside. Thoughts? Suggestions on how else to troubleshoot?

Thank you!

Do you mean the speedo light?

Have you replaced the fuse?

YOu sayin the connector built into the housing is loose? YOu may need to get that back to the RYca folks.

Yes, the connectors in the housing are loose, but there's definitely something rattling around loose inside the speedo.  Grrr. :(
