Title: How can I adjust my handlebars
Post by Chris Nall on 05/01/13 at 14:13:31

I have a 2001 Savage and previous owner rolled the handlebars forward to reach them better. How hard is it to loosen them amd roll them back for more stretch? I see 4 caps on top but cant seem to pop them off . Are they meant to pop off and just wedged on? Thanks

They are 4 plastic chrome caps that are pushed into the heads of allen head bolts. Pop them off with a knife and adjust as necessary  :)

Drip a bit of penetrating oil down the bolt holes and let it sit overnight before you put a wrench to those bolts. The bolts are steel, the risers are pot metal, they can be corroded together hard enough that you'll wring off a bolt head before you realized what was happening.

Been there... ::)  :-[
