I bet you all that no other country pays more in Registration than we do in New Zealand. $600 for 600cc and up.

$38 to register a 1500 Drifter, $81 for a years worth of insurance. Tipton County Tennessee is kind of pricey.  My friend/farmhand Doug 60 year old rider who's been on 2 wheels since 1970. >:(

Savage is $24, insurance is $86, Shelby County TN, rider has been on 2 wheels since 1987 and is 40 years old (me).  >:(

We live literally 200 yards or less from each other, in different counties, on my wife's family farm.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

West TN sucks.

Pecan season starts in September, come for the rally and stay for harvest... produce harvest starts next month, lettuces and other cool season crops...

And there is about 10 acres (with some pecan trees) for sale on our back corner... very generous bag limits during hunting season... and an ag permit to hunt year round is easy to get... and I have a couple spare guns you can borrow until you get settled in...

About $20 here...

It's based on the value of the vehicle... here...
A fancy new car, can be up around $1,000 a year...
My bike is a 97',... and is officially deemed "not worth a cr@p"...  ....my 95' Metro car is the same...
The scale don't go any lower...

Nice to know I'm ridin' the bottom of the economic curve...
Oddly enough,... it's where I'm happy...;D...
I love my bike, and my car... :-*...

Newfoundland, Canada = $75.00CDN annual registration fee for motorcycles ... was $67.00/yr if you renewed online, but our Gubmint took away that perk a couple weeks ago ... now $75 whether you renew online or stand in line at DMV :(

Insurance on my '06 Shadow Spirit costs approx $120.00/yr for the bare-bones minimum coverage needed to legally Ride ... If I recall, my last LS650 was about the same ...

North Carolina I think the registration was around $25, the yearly county tax is around $10 and full coverage insurance including theft is $119.  For me the most expensive thing is finding riding time LOL  :D

My registration was $48.87 last year: $28.87 for the plate and $20 for tax in the county where I live.  I pay $181.61 per year for insurance but that includes comprehensive and collision.  If I dropped those, it'd only be $121 per year.

Paul,
Property tax and tag for a 2007 was $34.75. Liability insurance with road side service was another $98 for the year. Sorry about the registration costs way down there. If it is that much for a bike, how much for a car?

Good hunting

A car is $280NZ or thereabouts for 12 months. Or about $225 US, this includes a significant Accident Compensation levy as NZ operates a no fault system of compensation for accident victims. Unfortunately motorcyclists feature high in the injury and dead statistics and therefore it's deemed that they pay a higher levy. As do Top Dressing pilots, or crop dusters as you Americans call them. It would be interesting to see if anyone from the UK or Australia or continental Europe contributes to this.

I believe each county in Tennessee is different. In Sumner county it cost me $14.50 to renew my motorcycle license plate each year.

Here in Alberta it's $38 for 6 month registration and $400 insurance per year. Registration is the same for all the bikes it have had. Insurance is $100/ year more for the c90 than the s40.

WD,

There are several nice beaches.  Myrtle Beach...has become a big tourist trap but has all sorts of shows and activities.  Several nice beaches close to Myrtle.  Charleston is here.  Not much beach accessible in Charleston but lots of beach very close by.

Most of what's between Myrtle and Charleston is small beach towns.  Golf courses everywhere if you play...especially around Myrtle.  I keep meaning to go that way one weekend and just ride down the coast and see what I can find. But, life keeps intervening and I never seem to have the time.

There is a state income tax here.  I know you don't have that in TN.

State income tax... Bleah...

And unless the beaches meet Baltic levels of cleanliness, safety and behavior...
