That's not just modified, that's a custom one off  ;)

Looks to be a very functional one-off the LS! Gratz!

I added a little color to the tank last night.
Took this pic this morning with the "smart" phone.
Hopefully it will post.
I think it is a big improvement with color and retro Suzuki tank sticker.

It kinda looked funny with the black fender;  that two tone tank really ties it together better! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Thanks. It's taking time, but I think I'm on the right path to getting the parts to tie together and create an identity for the bike.

If you could find some dual purpose rubbers for it, the off roading would be alot more feasable (you could go deeper into the brush).

If the tires it came with weren't so new I would have already put some dual purpose tires on. That is on my list of things to do.

Good catch. I will check to see if there is something I can do to better guard that belt.

I replaced the original "buck horn" bars with some L.A. Choppers BMX style bars and some home made risers fabricated from 1X5 inch pipe from the hardware store. It's a bit cruiser (save the pad) but it's really comfortable to ride.

Congratulations on a VERY well made conversion !

My suggestion : next time you want to spend some money on her, consider a chain conversion.

Chain conversions are reasonably cheap and allow you non only to have a much stronger final drive...

... they also allow you to "play" with final drive ratios and go for "long range cruising" ratios / dirt road ratios...

In my case, I replaced the belt drive (2.96:1) with a 17/49 #530 chain drive (2.88:1)
AND
the rear tire from a 140/80x15 to 140/90x15 (a bit taller but much cheaper).

The result is  6 - 8% taller  gearing, excellent for long range touring without being too demanding.

BUT if I wanted to go offroad, a 15 tooth front sprocket would boost the final drive ratio from 2.88:1 to 3.27:1,
allowing for much improved hill climbing capability.

As a closing remark, if you want to go for a chain drive conversion, always ensure that both sprockets are odd numbers AND not multiples of each other (i.e. not 15/45)
AND
if at all possible, ensure at least one is a prime number.

This way the life of chain and sprockets improved remarkably  8-)
