How many folks do you usually have show up? I'll have to convince the wife to let me do another trip one week after I do the dragon...LOL...

About 8-12 show up.  We like to rotate who's place we go to so not everyone has to ride/drive each time.  Plus each memeber may have different tools that other members don't have.  For instance, I have a bike lift, tire changer/balancer and welder among my tools.  So a member could find a good price on a new tire, send it to my house, and change it when they get here.  That can save a lot of money that way.  Or a member needs mechanical skills or knowledge that another member can provide.  Some members may not have a garage or tools.  At my house, we get to hang out with Paul Fuller of Fuller Precision CNC who makes all of our custom stuff and we can fit new custom items or design/discuss new custom items.  We also try to work in a ride of some cool road or place close to the host member's house.  For my house there is:

Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum: http://barbermuseum.org/

Smith Lake, home to the new Bass Fishing Hall of Fame:

And a few other lakes and parks.

For the HoD R&W Tour, we target riders from up to 5 hours away from central Alabama, basically AL, TN, GA and MS.  But anyone from anywhere with any kind of ride is welcome to join us.  One member's house in TN puts us close to Deal's Gap, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Maggie Valley.  A north GA member's house puts us close to Stone Mountain.  A south AL member's house puts us close to Gulf Shores.  A MS member's house puts us close to Natchez Trace and some casinos.  You get the idea.  Often, instead of selling an item, we end up trading it with another member for something they have but we need/want.

Although I've had many rides and have been an active member on several bike specific forums, this forum is the only one outside of my Mean Streak group that I have posted an invite.  That's because I thought this was one of the coolest forums with some really cool people.  I also have a fondness for the LS650.  Working on it taught me more than any other bike because of it's simplicity, room to work, etc.  After the strokes, I thought I'd never ride again.  But I am.  And one day I'll get another LS650.

I'll have another get together at my house probably in July and one more maybe early September.  Other member's will likely host one or two between now and the end of summer.
