Title: trailer light as brake light now wont start
Post by justink91 on 04/18/13 at 15:58:17

so i took my back fender off with the turn signals, i put the rectifier in the air box. the electrical piece the battery terminals are connected to that was on the fender i attached to a piece of sheetmetal to the frame.
my question is that when i wired the three wires from
the bike to the two wire brake light they came on and then they slowly dimmed out. now im not getting any power at all aftrr i trickle charged my battery so i dont believe its the battery but it could be, also the fuses did not blow out im so frustrated because its getting to be really warm
out!!

Double check your wiring, especially with the rectifier being relocated. Also make sure that the tail light is properly grounded, what did you do with the ground from the stock tail light? I hooked my original ground wire to the mounting bolts to assure a good ground.

You don't even know what a blown fuse looks like and you started redoing wiring? May god have mercy on your soul.

Sometimes you cannot tell by looks if they are blown. I have seen several fuses thet looked normal but tested bad. ::)

Or, he's got an intermittent open, and it was just coincidence that it decided to start with the new fuse.   [smiley=sad.gif]

A plastic blade fuse like on our bikes? No you haven't unless you're totally blind.
