Title: Pretty proud of myself !
Post by JPSBOBBER on 04/13/13 at 14:37:34

So since a couple days, since I got my bike in fact, I was stressed out because I never did mechanics on a motorcycle, and I knew I had a couple of thing to do on mine before getting it running.

So today, with a sudden envy of getting my project started, I headed at my garage, and started to analyze.

4 Hours later results:

-Tank, airbox cover and both fenders removed for painting
-Handlebars, grips and controls taken off
-Saxman's turn signals relocation mod in progress
-Air filter changed for a K&N one
-Oil and oil filter change done
-Battery recharged
-Spark plug changed
-Removed shoe mark on the the pipe from the previous owner's shoes
-Drained tank and removed petcock to change it for Raptor petcock

Left to do is install 8" chumps from Biltwell with a 1" riser and fit in a rear trailer fender!

Just personnal stuff I wanted to share, but I was pretty proud of accomplishing all that even tough I never riden a bike yet !!

Glad you took the bull by the horns!

Just don't loose any parts and work at your own pace, it's a great feeling of pride to work on your own bike besides saving money and gaining knowledge that may one day help you while stranded on the side of the road LOL   ;D
