What is the widest tire I can mount on my stock S40 2012? Does wider mean more traction, or am I just assuming it does?

Wider means it doesnt carve corners as well,

Really, I would think it would improve it, no? Why? Does tread design or shape play a bigger part than tread width?

To the best of my knowledge, no.Maybe  A wide tire requires you raise the rear of the bike some as you lean,or it affects geometry some. For some reason, it just makes slammin corners harder,

The Dunlop has served me well. PLenty O grip, &, lasts a year.
