I put new handlebars and seat on my ride. It completely changes the way the bike looks and feels. The stock buckhorns felt cramped and the stock seat was brutal on longer trips.

Over the Winter, I also put in a Raptor petcock, replaced a busted turning signal and installed new fork seals. This forum was a big help in learning how-to. New tires are ordered, I just need to re-jet and get a verslavy and the bike should be complete for a long time. This is good, because I am more about riding than wrenching :D

The seat is a Corbin, which it believe is the only aftermarket option we have. This is my only spurge for the bike, everything else has been low-budget. The handlebars were only $25.

How does the Corbin seat feel? I was contemplating getting one as well as older style handlebars. I'd appreciate your input! I would like to find something a little more comfy to ride back and forth to PA-NY (about 2 hour trip). :)

ADJ- the Corbin seat feels flat and firm compared with the stock seat. It also has a bit of lower back support from the pillion, but this also restricts from sliding around. I understand that there is a break-in period with Corbin seats. For your two-hour rides, it wpold probably be much improved.

The seat weighs a lot more than the stock unit. It is very solid.

I also wanted to mention that the handle bars are a bit wider than stock and make it much easier to see/use the rear mirrors. I'm not looking at my shoulders anymore!

Good deal! Thanks for your input! I may just tough it out with the seat until I get another bike, but I definitely like that I wouldn't have to look at my shoulders! I may look into handlebars for the spring.

Yeah, you probably right.
I looked for the handlebars (HD Sportster), but there are sooooo many variations. What he used is probably "stock" HD Sportster, I think I go with that....

make sure they're 1", otherwise you will have to change out risers/yoke, controls
