Title: Re: Winterbike Post by perajani on 03/04/13 at 11:01:52 ;D Hello my swedish friend. You cannot fool us. Only if you would have spikes I would even wonder this to be possible. |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Cowboy from Sweden on 03/04/13 at 11:17:35 This is how my world here in sweden looks in the winter, and i love to ride bike's , so i have to go for it. |

Title: Home after work Post by Cowboy from Sweden on 03/04/13 at 10:13:32 It's snowy in Sweden |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Cavi Mike on 03/05/13 at 01:52:41 Street tires on the ice? You definitely got some big ones. |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by splash07 on 03/05/13 at 04:56:30 How many times have you put that thing down on ice or snow? If it were me there wouldnt be much left on either side of that bike. |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Cowboy from Sweden on 03/05/13 at 05:07:25 None this winter, but several times earlier, have to bee carefull with the right hand. |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by WD on 03/05/13 at 08:52:44 Two words... tire chains. It IS kinda fun though, and to see the look on cagers faces as you go by on a bike... ;D My friend Doug will ride in up to 5 inches of snow on his 1500 Drifter. See...http://nathan-lee.com/blog/2009/06/03/riding-in-snow-we-have-the-technology/ |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Paraquat on 03/05/13 at 09:18:13 You'd probably get along with Digger. Me? I'm waiting until it's ~45 degrees when I wake up and after the streets have been swept free of salt. --Steve |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Cowboy from Sweden on 03/05/13 at 10:00:43 I love'd to try chains, but there is'nt room enogh cos i changed my rear tire to a bigger one. Last weeek we had -18*celsius and that is cold i can tell. The worst parts to protect is the fingers on the throtelhand, the left hand is easy to warm up on the engine while driving :-) |

What gloves do you use? |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Cowboy from Sweden on 03/05/13 at 10:34:11 Old Swedish army thumbgloves when under -0celsius, dont know what that's in fahrenheit, tryed with fingerglove's but they dont work when it's reealy cold. The biggest problem when driving in a lot of snow is that the airfilter will be coverd whit snow and the bike sometimes therefore will die |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by verslagen1 on 03/05/13 at 11:09:59 think he means mittens 0° C = 32° F |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Greg on 03/05/13 at 11:34:30 I figured mittens. I keep looking at them. When I decide on the "right" pair, winter will be over. ;D I made the mistake of going to a biker leather/helmet/accessory shop and asking for mittens. I got some hardcore stares. I typically have the only metric in the parking lot as well. They don't mind me much though as I spend a great deal of money there. |
Title: Re: Winterbike Post by Cowboy from Sweden on 03/05/13 at 11:56:08 Don't visit that kind of shop's to often, i try to find my kind of stuff in army surplus store's. Biker shop's love our money but they dont know nuts when it come's to extrem bikeriding as i do, and they are expensive to. Greg, you have to buy you a Harley for your peace when visiting the local shop. ;-) |
