Title: Fishtail muffler installed Post by Greg on 02/12/13 at 15:35:46 I scored a brand new pair of genuine :o HD fishtail mufflers for $50. I stuck one on. I still need to get a bolt welded to the muffler so I can get rid of the hose clamp and I don't know if it will bounce enough to hit the brake linkage yet. I haven't road tested it at this point. I did fire it up and compared to my Screamin' Eagle, it is much, much deeper in tone. Not quite as loud but still makes some noise. |

Title: Re: Fishtail muffler installed Post by prechermike on 02/13/13 at 02:54:09 Cool muffler, Greg. What kind of bag is that over it? Does it get very hot? Thinking about more storage for my bike without putting on saddlebags. |
Title: Re: Fishtail muffler installed Post by Greg on 02/13/13 at 04:35:54 Prechermike, it is just a regular fork bag I picked up at a local shop. It is a round one, but any should work. It doesn't seem to get hot. At least with my previous muffler but I don't expect that to change. I don't carry much in it. At this time just a duffel bag in case I buy something that doesn't fit in my back rest bag. I did put a bottle of water in there once and it was fine. I got the idea from another member who did the same thing. The cool thing is I paid very little for the bag compared to my buddy who bought a swingarm bag for his HD. |
