Title: indicators not working and it's freezing cold!
Post by strang on 02/12/13 at 14:12:42

I don't have a garage at the moment so any repairs will be on the street and I live in London and it's freezing. Last night the indicators (all of them) suddenly didn't work and then came back and then only flashed once and now tonight they don't work at all.
Wondered if people could help me find the most likely culprit so that I don't have to spend hours out there in the cold.
is it the switch?
the flasher?
the fuse? (wouldn't this shut off more than just the indicators?)
help much appreciated
mike

Most likely the flasher. The oem flasher went bad on all 3 Savages I've owned. I always replace them with an automotive electronic type & never have had another one go bad. 8-)

cheers Ridge - tomorrow I'll bung in an led flasher I have on hand.
I know it will affect flash rate but hopefully it will see me through the cold snap.

Crimped/soldered a couple of new connectors onto the existing wiring and bunged in the flasher box and I'm flashing again. Flash is a little bit slow with an led box but works well enough for now.
So if all indicators stop working and maybe intermittently at first - it's the flasher box. done  :)
