This turned out to be one of the easiest modifications I've done. Four simple brackets to make & it fits the stock mounts. I cut the latch portion off of the 950 seat for clearance & was suprized at how well it fit. A tongue bracket & a flat rear tank braccket, 2 angle brackets for the rear & it bolted to the oem rear mounts.

BTW, these seats can often be bought for $50 or less at the YMF Hock shop.

I have a second party V-Star saddle on mine and it do make all the difference on longer rides do it not? Comfort is highly under rated in my opinion.

Since I change tanks as well, my mounting chore was a bit different than yours, but still remarkably easier than one would have thought. I did one upside down squared off U bracket (glued and riveted to the seat pan) that I bolt to the stock tabs of the back of the seat mounts. Then I just notched the front seat tab fit around the now longer front bolt that holds the rear of the tank down.

Is that a hitch you have going back from your shock bolts? Check out my mounting system that an old welder feller in ND fabricated for me. On or off in five minutes max.

Yeah, Jack, it's all about comfort for me. And since I'm currently setting this bike up for my wife, the more comfortable the better. 8-)

Yes, that is a trailer hitch I built back in 2002. It's pulled my trailer thousands of miles now with no problems at all. I wanted one that didn't look as bulky as most I've seen. It's not hard to take off but since I used the trailer for shopping & not having to wait in the ferry line it stays on.

I built a receiver type hitch for my 950 so it does most of the towing now.
