Title: New bikes from Honda AGAIN!
Post by LostArtist on 02/08/13 at 13:18:04

built off the NT700X engine, here are two new bikes from Big Red, Honda CTX 700 and CTX 700N

I really like them!!

Have you seen the new CB1100? Looks straight out of 1981 but it has an oil cooler and fuel injection...

The CTX700N really appeals to me. I'm not crazy about the body work on the "S" version though. I think I'd pass on the automatic transmission, but mainly just 'cause of the price difference. Otherwise I don't think I'd mind not having to shift.

I do kinda shake my head when I see a 700 classed as a beginner bike, like in the article I linked to. I'm old enough to remember when a 650 was considered a BIG motorcycle.

Look like Honda engineered Ducatis.  I lke the look, how has Honda's build reputation been this past decade, i have not followed them at all.
Started of with a Honda S-90, maybee I should go full circle.
I am gonna have to replace the Savage this Spring as it hurts my lower back too much.   So far looking at the Triumph Bonnie, Moto Guzzi V-7, not sure about the BMW rotax jobs.

A Ducati Monster looks great and there are usually a hundred of them used for sale on the Web; there has to be a reason for that.??

I don't think it looks anything like a Ducati. It screams BMW to me.

Screams Honda,.. to me... :-?...
(not my favorite scream... the parts seem too,.. fitted,.)... (can't imagine getting a wrench in there)...
I'll take a Duc...696 Monster... :-*...

I saw these at the Chicago Show this weekend. Both cycles were very light and looked impressive. They are both available in automatic and manual. Both machines had a great center of gravity and were very light. Target market from Honda was women and older men who still wanted to ride but were not as strong as they used to be, but still wanted to pound through the gears. I'm 6'2 245 lbs and still felt comfortable on it.

Yikes! I think I might be the target market. And I didn't think Honda ever heard of me  :o

I really like the looks of the black "N" version, sans all the plastic ... mids on this Bike instead of forwards would make it nearly ideal 8-)

I'm real close to pulling the trigger on the NC700X. Toss up between that and a VStrom, but I've always had a soft spot for Hondas. The only hang up is the new CB1100. That's a nice looking bike and I've read nothing but good stuff about them. Now I see these CTX's and I'm back to the drawing board.....

No kidding, found a smoking deal on a 1500 Drifter, a 1500 Classic and a Vulcan 800A, and along comes the CB1100...

Can't afford it, refuse to finance it. Not going in hock for another toy.

WD, love the looks of those Drifters ... they're gettin' kinda rare too ... would love to come across an 800 Drifter! 8-)

Not going in hock for another toy.

understand as I'm putting a daughter through college, but I'd rather go in hock than not have a toy. Riding bikes and playing a little golf is about the only thing I do other than work now.
