Title: Swingarm compatibility year to year?
Post by fastbub on 01/28/13 at 16:20:13

I have a 1998 Savage and am looking to replace the swingarm with a good used one. the bike was layed down and the passenger peg ended up bending the swingarm where it mounts.

Are there any differences among the years? Or are they all the same?

Thanks alot for any info you might have.

If the Savage/S40 were truly perfection, we would not have all these threads about rejetting, exhaust changes, RYCA modifications, and so on. Some apparently feel it isn't perfect.

I love my Savage as much as I loved my Volkswagen Beetle....the simplicity, low cost of maintenance and ease of making performance improvements are what made me love them. Too bad the Beetle is gone...wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine...as for my Savage....I will NEVER give it up..."from my cold, dead fingers" or something like that ;D

My 98 Savage and my 72 Super Beetle even look alike...pumpkin orange and cream (to be added to the Beetle this summer, it's all orange right now) with rust pitted chrome... ;D

And they are both broken...

I can find the "perfect" suit, but I'm still going to have it tailored to fit, & choose "accessories" to suit my personality. That being said, the LS650 is only a few common issues away from perfection by that definition, & that ain't bad at all these days! ;D :o 8-)
