Title: Another head cover question? Post by Bubba1 on 01/24/13 at 13:09:52 The upside down bolt? If I'm not planning on putting the chrome covers back on top of the headcover is it necessary? Seems that's all it held in place thanks |
Title: Re: Another head cover question? Post by Dave on 01/24/13 at 13:31:11 You should put a shorter bolt in that location. It does provide some clamping pressure to the head cover. When I last assembled mine, I put in a threaded rod with a nut welded on the bottom. When I decide to eliminate those chrome pieces - I can just trim the length of the bolt down and put an acorn nut on top. |

Dave, when you use all thread, put the nut on first then back it off after the cut (With a hack saw) to straighten the threads all nice and neat. ;) |
