We dipped to a 39 year low of 17f, two days ago... now, it's 70's all week...
Brace yer'self,... that cold snap is headed east... :-?...

LOL Jim, I think that front is heading for us in Western NC, we're supposed to get snow by early morning tomorow :D

We ended up with 3.5" to 4". That was in only 3 hours. There were two thunder boomers with it. 4" is pretty unusual here. Usually it's from a dusting to 2". Hit between noon to 3pm. By 10am the decision was made to let school out at 1pm. It came on so quick and heavy that three schools wouldn't let buses run. Several others called buses back halfway thru their route. Those buses returned to school with some students still on board. Our county Board of Education uses the automated phone call system where the superintendent records a message then all the parents phones are called. Said students would remain at school until some means of travel where found. He said anybody with a 4x4 that could help it would be appreciated. School closed tomorrow.
