Title: Crank case evac
Post by Lucaisrussell on 01/15/13 at 11:06:15

Alright everyone, I've had this idea in my head for quite sometime and wanted to hear your opinions. I was thinking about hooking up my crankcase breather to my exhaust since its just a line dangling off my bike since I removed the air box. I would use a kit similar to this with the right sizes   http://m.summitracing.com/parts/sum-120108 . I've got this on my car and I absolutely love the way it works. But would putting it on single cylinder savage be safe? I know it would be mainly cosmetic and i dont expect much proformance results since this motor blows pretty hard out of the breather. But I want to be different. Opinions and objections please.

Summit® crankcase evacuation systems are designed for drag race use only. These systems maintain negative crankcase pressure throughout the rpm range, increasing piston ring seal, and reducing intake charge contamination.

The savage breathes in as much as it exhails (or almost as much)

This system is made for multi cylinder engine whose internal volume doesn't change much.  Only bypass is exhailed.

So are you saying it would probably suck up the exhuast threw the breather?

Yeah, and you don't want that.  Like versy said.. the LS650 breather has to .. suck and blow.
