Well,, it allows oil to bypass the filter.. some,
It prollee stuck to the last filter & the "Mechanic" threw it out with the old filter & didnt know it was sposed to have one,.Id call the shop & tell them they screwed up
AND
I would Never let anyone change my oil.

While we do maintenance, we Observe & take care of little details no shop mechanic would even notice.

Had the exact same problem the first time I changed the oil on mine. Just go get another. In fact buy a couple just in case.

Didnt expect that from the dealer, ehhh? Imagine the shock & surprise of the few whove seen dealerships install their oil filter bakkerds & destroy their engines top to bottom,,
