I'm thinking that the rider bailed,..

Yea, the bus would be caved in if the rider hit it as hard as the bike did.

Naw...they were trying to make a reverse trike(like Bombardier)only to hold more people. ;D

Looks like the bus sustained more damage than the bike. :-? I'd say it's possible that the bike come to a stop from the front wheel hitting the step, and the rider stayed on through the whole ordeal, assuming it was a slow speed collision. :-/
