Title: lost throttle cable clip
Post by jvdb on 01/01/13 at 20:26:55

I lost the little clip that secures the throttle cable to the carburetor. I thought it might just be an e-clip, but I tried several and it doesn't seem like they fit properly. I can't find it on any of the parts schematics (I'm guessing it's included with the throttle cable). Any idea where I could get one without buying a throttle cable? or maybe if someone could post a picture I could cut an e-clip to work.

thanks

Is this the clip you are talking about?

I hope this helps

I lost mine a long time ago........and it works just fine without it.  I figured I would find it on the floor of my garage someday.....but I haven't yet and doubt I will.  I have never found the part number to order a replacement.

you could probably use a roach clip instead, the flat sticks in the slot is all you need (but don't really)

Thanks, I forgot what it looked like, but I'm pretty sure that's right.

Guess I can either forget about it, or bend a paperclip.

Dont need it, their lawyers told them to put one there.

For what the clip actually does, a twist tie from a loaf of bread can do the same job, just strip off the plastic or the paper and use the bare wire to wist you a "safety wire" into the stock clip gap.
