A big fan to make the ice form as if it was moving down the road would have really been a good thing. Ive had to stop & knock ice off of my car & its not hanging down like that.

As long as there is no snow, slush, black ice, etc. on the roadways, Riding a motorcycle in winter is no different than riding a snowmobile as far as the effect that cold temps have on the Rider ... and Canucks ride snowmobiles all the time in winter ... just haveta have the proper clothing ... which would work just as well on a Bike.

I know a local fellow who's only transportation is a CanAm Spyder ... 12 months of the year ...

That couldn't be further from the truth. The engine on a snowmobile is in front of you - like a car - and the hot engine air is ducted directly onto you. It may be an open cockpit but sleds keep you quite toasty.

You know its cold when you can feel the heat from a car 50 feet in front of you. YOu can feel the difference in temp riding on a road thats clear of ice & snow from the traffic warming the area, blasting the ice & snow away versus a block over on a residential road thats only got a few tire tracks on it. You feel the temp drop when ya drive down a hill.. Ive Been in some cold. One of the cheapest helpers is a fleece lined Big PIstol carrier, unzipped wide open & placed inside the coat, fleece toward you. The plastic outter shields you from the air that leaks thru the zipper & the fleece adds another layer to the chest. The chest catches a lot of cold air. It isnt "Full Body" so it doesnt restrict movement, easy to remove & put back & theyre cheap,.,
