I'm wondering if these would help keep hands warm...

with that big bolt upfront, I'd say there's a clamp like the harley signal mount that clamps to the bar.

might be a problem with our master as there's not much room before the bend unless you've got a broomstick.

Handguards do keep the hands warmer, even with heavy winter gloves on reducing the wind directly definitely helps keep any body heat in the gloves. The ones you are looking at are brushgaurds and do have holes, but for that price if you can mount them it probably wouldn't be too tough to cover them up ;)

That heavy bracket goes along the inside of the guard and attaches to the inside of your bar ends so they don't fold up on your hands or the levers in case of a spill in the dirt. They do offer nice wind protection. Youtube has some videos :)

I have VERY large handguards on my BMW, and can testify they will certainly protect from bugs, dust and rain, but NOT from cold air.
That is because of the vortex created by the guard itself which will suck in air from underneath.

An explanation of the phenomenon is looking at your lower leg when riding; even though we would think our trouser legs should be pulled back by the wind, they often flap forwards... wind vortex.

Hmmm mpescatori if that's the case, I wonder if the brush guards with vent holes would actually work better. They might allow just enough air through to do away with the wind vortex effect, yet still block enough wind to reduce heat wisking from the gloves ::)

I've experienced that vortex phenomenon on a Piaggio three wheel scooter test ride at Americade in'09. The unit I rode had an uber large wind screen though...felt as if someone was pushing on my back at speed. The only way to fully cover your hands would be the silly looking mit like things. The standard size guards will do fine at blocking the 60+ ??mph wind chill

Seriously,.. you'd be surprised...
Temps in the high desert can change 30 to 40'f in a couple of hours...
... and I'm a total wuss... :-?...

So,.. I did go and buy them today,... salesman promised I can bring them back if they don't work for me...
... Santa won't let me install 'till after X-mas... :-?...

Ironically, Fridays, (my big ride day),.. tends to coincide with my regular guitar day...
(no numb fingerling's allowed)... :-?...
