It seems the pilot may have placed the copter in a place he did not need to, between and close to the rocks. I know there appears to be feet to spare, but if there are any helicopter pilots out there, chime in. Maybe a little photoshop going on here. |

Another point about being where he shouldn't... there's a ground effect where the prop wash recirculates and causes loss of lift. |

An ex-nam chopper pilot was flying as a weather guy for a radio station when a major bank robbery takes place and the crooks get away in a chopper. The weather guy chases them all over the place. In one scene the choppers fly through a hanger. It had never been done before and I read an account of how the stunt pilot did it....very carefully. Search "amazing helicopter" on you tube and try and keep your mouth closed. ;) That particular heli has a five bladed rotor, so they don't have to be that long. |
