Title: In and around Houston,TX
Post by clearush on 12/09/12 at 13:49:58

We are looking for Savage or former savage riders that live close enough to Houston,TX to join in a group ride. Of course the more actual Savages the better.

I'm out of Pasadena/Deer Park just SE of Houston and HoustonBofH is West side.

Post up if there are any others out there.

Figure I aught to post up anyway, even if you got me covered.  :)  I am near the Galleria.

I'm in alvin which is in the area. I don't have a suzuki ls650 anymore and I'm not usually a group kinda rider but this forum is awesome so I could make an exception to my usual antisocial behavior.

the weather is starting to bug me, the wet without real rain is annoying with all the morons sliding everywhere

that depends on where you're at

try a balcony, and a supply of adult beverage.

Me too...  Want to ride. But still a little cold and wet...  Might be better in time for a Sunday Funday ride.

well Houston has an issue with drivers can handle wet or curves, every curve in the Houston metroplex freeway system is a rush hour traffic jam not to mention the dead stop still merge points. misty rain just compounds the problem with sliders

So the weather is still looking nice for Sunday, so I am thinking of a Sunday Funday ride.  Anyone up for it post here, and we can pick the side of town to ride on.  I know a good ride on the west side, and a good one south...

I am getting busy with my work but ... could not let a ride pass by.
I am in for it should we have one this coming Sunday Funday Ride.

Sing out on your side of town!  I have this one amazing ride on the south side...  144 miles in 3 hours and 45 minutes.   :D  But I can cut a bit down...  It is around Brazos Bend State Park...  No highway at all.  (Well, 2.8 miles on hwy 6...)

I also have a much shorter one (109 miles in 2 hours and 45 minutes) on the west side.

These times are door to door, from my home in town, so you can trim a lot off the edge...  About an hour on each is just gettin there and back.  Houston is BIG!

wifes grandparents live on 1462 in Pecan Bend just a flashing light down from the Brazos bend turn off.  A shorter ride out around that area would be nice.

There are 3 roads I like down there;
County Rd 42 (Sandy Point rd)
County Rd 25 (South of Eagle Lake)
And Davis Estate Rd.

The rest is filler to loop it together, and a stop at West of The Brazos for a hydration break. ;)

the bike I was buying today got pushed back till tomorrow afternoon  >:( but in two weeks I would be interested in riding Sandy point and Davis Estate. Going out south of Eagle lake might be a bit far for me.

Sucks dude, but there will be more.  I was just itching for a ride.  So if anyone wants to join us, post here before 10:00 or so.  I will check then and we can hook up, or we can do it next time.

Did get my ninja 250 to do the cafe conversion on, just need to tinker with the engine a bit and wait till blue collar bobbers release the kit  :-[ but its a project without taking down my savage  :)

I'll be an owner soon enough, although I'll be taking it all apart almost as quick as I get it.  But I'm on the SW side near Hwy 6 and Bellaire
