Title: Re: Sailing away... Post by 360k+ on 12/06/12 at 19:37:01 Someone ought to blend this viddy to Christopher Cross's song "Sailing". "Sailing takes me away to where I've always heard it could be Just a dream and the wind to carry me And soon I will be free" |
Title: Re: Sailing away... Post by justin_o_guy2 on 12/06/12 at 19:43:35 Can anyone tell me why anyone would ride into such a tight, I mean like, pedestrian type environment, space on a bike with bags? Its not a scooter, its a full sized bike, which he would know now if they had made that idiot hoist it back up, alone. I doubt that rude dude even asked the captains permission to come aboard.. I have no sympathy for him. I feel for that poor bike & I hope the boat escaped unharmed. I would be interested to know what damage the bike suffered from a fall like that. |
Title: Re: Sailing away... Post by ToesNose on 12/07/12 at 11:52:10 Well I must say the boat will be ok, the guy landed in the boat the bike landed on the dock. |

Post by engineer on 12/08/12 at 04:50:29 Notice how quick the guy lets go of the hand grips and manages to get separated from the bike with his legs under him before he lands in the boat. I wonder if that was pure reflex, maybe luck, or did he look down and figure out how he wanted to land. |

If you've ridden in dirt for any amount of time, this reflex is fairly common because you're trying tor remain perpendicular to gravity. I have ridden over cliffs that I didn't think were quite as steep as they were, and did the same thing. I think the "survival instinct" kicks in at some point and the bike damage becomes secondary to your own - a bad place to be, generally speaking. |
