Title: Biltwell Frisco or Keystone?
Post by Badass94Cad on 11/30/12 at 16:41:14

I'm shopping for new bars, and I'm torn between the Biltwell Frisco and Keystone.  Currently I have the stock buckhorns turned up like mini apes, so I like the height of the Frisco, but I also like the low rise of the Keystone.  They both look cool IMO.  I've made templates of them with a wire coat hanger and I think both positions are comfortable.

Help me decide!  Input, opinions, experiences, etc. appreciated.  8-)

This is for a bobber BTW.

Here's a Savage bobber with Frisco bars:

My wife just put in her vote for the Keystones.  She said "they look meaner."  She also said they look dangerous.  :o  ;D

Actually, here's elitemunkeycrew's Savage with Keystones.  :) :)

This is the direction I'm going, with the BCB fender and seat.

Keystone is winning...

Any other comments, experience with either bar?  8-)

Although the keystone is cool, it is way too busy and modern for a Savage bobber. In my opinion.

I have both bars. I put the Frisco's on and liked the height, but didn't like the lack of pullback or droop. Then I put the Keystones on and liked the pullback and droop, but they were too low. I added 3" of height with riser extensions and find them very comfortable now, on short trips. I haven't been able to do any long trips since I raised them up, so my opinion may change. I like the looks of the Frisco's better. I may put them back on for that reason alone.
BTW this is the sixth itineration of handlebar- riser combinations I have tried- my poor old arthritic body likes to sit just so on the bike.

Those are good points.  I was liking the Frisco for the height, and Keystone for the look.  I like the aggressive angles of the Keystone.

Looks like the poll is all tied up.  :P

Oh, interesting!  They're like a Frisco-Keystone hybrid.  :)  I wonder if they're available in chrome...

Plus there is no need to change out cables with the keystones. The Frisco bars only work with older model savages that had the buck horn style handle bars.

I installed the Keystones with two inch risers from a Kawasaki Vulcan and with the height of the bars the stock cable worked fine.

The Paughco bars are chrome. I used the 8" rise (I think they have 10"and 14" as well), no need to get new cables coming from my stock buckhorn bars.

My bad,  I was looking on my phone & the reflection of the paint made them look black.   :P

Sweet looking Savage btw.  8-)

Nice vid!  8-)

I have a '95 with the stock buckhorns, so I figured I was good with the cable length either way I went.  :)

IMHO the Frisco's look better on a stock, or nearly stock bike, and the Keystone's look better on a bobber.

The bars are only $100 a pop get them both and get a feel for each one on the bike and return the one you like the least.
