Can't help with the production numbers - I don't even know where to look - but I understand what you're getting at. I've seen exactly two S40's around here besides mine. A brand new 2012 at a local dealer, and a two or three year old - can't remember exactly - used one, a trade in no doubt, at a Harley dealer near here. I have never seen another one on the road.

One time I was standing outside a bar when this dude rolled up on a Savage bobber. I struck up a conversation with him about the bike.

Otherwise, the only place I see them locally is on the List of Craig. :P

Believe it or not, the LS650 is fairly common up here in eastern Nfld. ... wasn't always the case tho ... back in '03 when I got my 1st LS I'd only see one other around town (though I'm sure there were others that I didn't encounter) ... motorcycle ownership exploded up here in the years since ... 7000 registered motorcycles in the Province of Newfoundland in 2003, over 14,000 in 2011 ... so now I see lots more Savages & S40s on the road ... especially S40s.

Verslagen1 - ya, just quantity the number of LS650/Savage/S40's made - one would think that given the low price, these would be a popular choice - as low-priced cars have been over the decades - thanks to all who responded - I thought someone would have this info :(
