Title: Anyone with Beach handlebars?
Post by Chris Roth on 11/24/12 at 23:15:33

I have been looking for a replacement for the stock bull horns.  I see many have gone with the Ape Hangers with a tall rise or the Drag Bars for down low.  I haven't seen any mention of Beach Bars.  The rise on these should be lower than stock and wider too.  I have seen common specs for 1" bars to have 4" rise, 32-39 inch width, and 14-16 inch pull back.

I am suspecting that due to the additional width and the pull back that stock cables might be the issue.  I have long arms and looking for something wider than stock and not going higher up either.

Only one guy that I know, but he's long gone.

There have been a couple I've seen with them over the last 14 years/2 forums of having a Savage...

Custom cables are the answer. Any small engine shop or independent bike shop should be able to set you up with the right cables.

Bar choices? As long as they are non-dimpled 1" bars the sky is the limit.

problably not beach bars, but these are the widest set I've seen...

The wider you go, the less likely you'll need to raise the bars to avoid hitting the tank.

I think I just wanted to stretch out a little.  I am only 5'10" but i have arms like a chimpanze.  So yes, ape hangers sound species correct, but I don't like the idea of my arms draping like that.  Most the drag bars seem to be really low.

I instead landed on some drag bars with a 4" rise with the same 28" width but due to the 4" pull back I think it lets me achieve the stretch.  Got the Chopper Z-bars from DemonsCycle.com
