Title: Old pic
Post by 360k+ on 11/16/12 at 11:46:49

Finally!   Truly affordable housing helps the Phillips family realize their dream of owning a Harley.      :)

That's not really our house (LOL), but it is my Dad, Mom, Bro & Sis, circa early 50's.   I am in the foreground with cowboy boots.   Rode many a poker run behind my Dad on that old iron hoss starting about 5 or 6 years old.   On occasion, I also remember him throwing it down and jumping up and down on it because it wouldn't start.    ;D   After he cooled off, that was usually followed my Mom bringing the car around and tying a rope to the forks to pull start it.   Ahhh, the good old days.

Swamp cooler???   Mom and Dad always told me we were better off than most because we had AC!   Oh yeah, that and our real flush toilet too!   LOL

Actually, that was an abandoned house on the ranch that I was raised on until I was 11 or 12.   In fact, my Dad was a ranch hand and rode real horses during the week.   We raised cattle, hogs and fruit trees.  Back then it was open range and all the ranchers gathered for a real roundup and calf branding each year.   The event lasted 2 or 3 days, sleeping on the ground, and real chuck wagon meals.   Those were fun childhood experiences that I wouldn't have traded for any city kid's life - no way!
