Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Dave on 11/14/12 at 07:22:59 That looks like it would work far better then the "BACK OFF" mudflaps at keeping tailgaters off your butt! |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by prechermike on 11/14/12 at 08:53:09 I rode to see a buddy once, found a great deal on this: http://pics.gunbroker.com/GB/305483000/305483711/pix026107151.jpg A more impressive looking than it actually is .22lr. But how do you get a rifle home on a motorcycle? I strapped it on just like that guy did and rode home. I am reasonably certain I was legal, but I also figured I would draw attention. I was out in the country and had to bypass a school (which would have been a no-no). But I made it home with absolutely no problems. |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Serowbot on 11/14/12 at 09:17:41 Amazing guy,... he can count his brain cells on his fingers... :-?... |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by ToesNose on 11/14/12 at 10:59:13 That is some scope! Not often you see one that big on an AR, more like a sniper/hunter's scope. |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Paraquat on 11/14/12 at 11:11:28 Open carry is allowed in Arizona. Not sure about Texas. I disassembled mine and put it in a pool cue case strapped to my back before. --Steve |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by verslagen1 on 11/14/12 at 11:18:00 In Cali, he's likely to get pulled over to find out if it was loaded, he should take out that clip. |

You should have seen the people scramble when I went in to an elementry school with my banjo strapped to my back! I had been invited by a fiddler to play for a kids square dance class.......and I hadn't been in an elementry school in years. How did I know I was supposed to stop at the office and register? The next week they just waved me past.......while grinning! |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by 12Bravo on 11/14/12 at 15:29:57 From what I can tell by the picture, the guy has a .308 AR10 rifle. If so, that would explain the large scope and sunshade. |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by ToesNose on 11/14/12 at 16:09:40 That would certainly make a lot more sense then an AR15 5.56 ;) |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by gerald.hughes on 11/14/12 at 16:13:32 I would be more impressed if he was carrying the 50 cal sniper rifle. Yeah, thats it. |

& size of his,, errr ,, clip [/quote] LMAO JOG! I have no idea (don't want to know) about the size of his 'clip'. The magazine and overall proportions of the rifle looks like an AR10 |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Paraquat on 11/15/12 at 06:17:31 Me thinks you are correct. I thought it was a 20 rnd mag but given the length it could be an AR10. Whether it be DPMS or Armalite I cannot tell. Can't see the buffer tower. --Steve |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Oldfeller on 11/15/12 at 15:36:39 Since that scope has a right large sun shade on it, it might be a .223 prairie dog rig and he's going out to make him some most delicate pink mist up against the background of the gently setting sun .... http://i.imgur.com/HRIIC.jpg |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by ToesNose on 11/16/12 at 04:20:59 Pfft who cares, it's not an LS650 ;D |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Starlifter on 11/16/12 at 19:32:35 ...well, you don't see that every day in the north-country...really scary IMO. And this guy can just ride around like that?? |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by Oldfeller on 11/16/12 at 20:09:45 Wipe your feet before entering the Cafe. No politics, no religion. |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by ToesNose on 11/17/12 at 04:35:26 When I lived on L.I., N.Y. in the 90's my bike was my only transportation for a stint. I used to ride to the range with my Ruger mini14 slung over my shoulder in a sleeve, never had any issue and even had a cop follow me briefly once. |
Title: Re: meanwhile......in texas Post by WD on 11/17/12 at 09:07:14 Technically he's illegal, pop the mag and open the bolt and it becomes a non-issue. But, since it slung the way it is, he can't reach around and bring it active so I doubt he'd be hassled. I carry an "empty" (per TCA, TN Code Annotated) .45 with me in the truck a lot. I just put the percussion caps back on when I get to where I want to shoot. Perfectly legal. |
