Title: Lost one of my brothers
Post by Midnightrider on 11/11/12 at 01:49:21

I'm the oldest sibling in my family, my oldest brother is 4 years younger than me, he passed this afternoon. I bictch and moan to much, he lost 2 children and had cancer three times. My feelings are all mixed up. I posted it in the Tall Table because I communicate more with you guys than the group who actually rides. Even though I disagree with several of you guys sometimes,it doesnt mean I dont care, I even miss Webster when he has to take his breaks LOL. Life is fragile and to often we take too much for granted. Right now I really dont know what else to say.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Peace and comfort to you.

Sorry Midnight,...
Life is so short for all of us,... and the older you get, the faster the days seem to go by...

Warren Zevon,... in the last weeks of his life said,... "Enjoy every sandwich"...
That phrase clicks in my head nearly every time I eat a sandwich....
Reminds me to appreciate all the little things...
Peace,
Serow

Why do people die even little babies in this way? Is there a timing in death? Does God choose our time? or is this world ruled by normal hazards and the softness of the physical body?….it is a great mystery.

So very sorry my friend, may you find peace.

I fully empathize.  My only brother died last year and he was 6 years younger than me.   He was a hard core biker and party reptile in his younger years, and frankly, I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.  This year my Grandma died in May (age 100), and my Mom (her daughter) in August at age 82.  Particularly in my Bro's case, there were pocket mysteries in his life that I didn't know much about (prison time, etc.), and wish I had talked to him more.   We had become closer over the past 10 years or so, and only then I realized what a fascinating person he was.   Seems we always think about things like that after it's too late.

Let all the pain anger and sadness out.....most grown men dont cry but there are times when it works and helps one to move on. As time passes, each day will get easier and only the good memories last.

PS, i still ride about 5k miles a year!  :)

I lost an older brother to cancer a few years ago. Even though he was a bit of an as$hole I still miss him. No one should of gone through what he did. I'm sorry about your loss, just remember the good times and try to smile when you think of him.

He was put in the ground yesterday. I will always wish I could have spent more time with him. He loved Honda Nighthawks like we love our Savage. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. All you guys mean a lot to me, whether I sometimes agree or I sometimes argue I care about each and every one of you. When I'm weak and I cant get around you guys give me something to do and think about. My life is better because of all of you.
