Title: need replace right mirror Post by skipkb on 10/29/12 at 17:22:24 so I dumped the bike : (. was in the rain and hit the brakes a little to hard, and went over on the right side. other than some minor road rash I'm ok and so is the bike other than some scratches & a bent foot rest. and... the right mirror broke off. however it broke the base so I need to purchase a whole new lever I think. but I'm having trouble finding the right part. the only thing I can find on bike bandit looks like it's for the clutch side of the handlebar. A pic would probably help explain this but the link I have to "how to post pics" doesn't seem to work anymore? I can post if someone has a new link. thanks so much! |

Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by rfw2003 on 10/29/12 at 17:50:27 you are talking about the Throttle side correct, if so it's part #6 in this diagram you are needing if it just broke the front mirror boss part of the clamp. http://www.bikebandit.com/2000-suzuki-savage-650-ls650p/o/m147741#sch242986 Now if it broke both sides you will need the master cyl. as well. Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by MiCTLaN on 10/30/12 at 08:01:23 If anyone else has a spare, I would be interested as well... I bought my bike with a missing throttle side mirror and also just need that bracket (and the mirror too, I suppose). $25 for that one part seemed a little silly to me, so I've just been running with one mirror. |
Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by skipkb on 10/30/12 at 18:54:50 thanks everyone! cavimike just sent you the money via paypal. awesome. thanks so much. justin_o_guy: there weren't really any pieces to pick up. the mirror broke off clean & everything else was just dinged up. rubber melted off the foot rest and bent it a bit, rear turn signal cover banged up a bit & scratches on the exhaust pipe. i was beat up for a few days but was back ridin' about a week later. had my helmet & ridin gloves on... could've been a lot worse. |
Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/30/12 at 19:15:44 So, the pedestal the mirror mounts in survived? |
Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by Cavi Mike on 10/30/12 at 23:58:12 I got the payment. I should still be awake by the time the post office opens this morning but if I'm not, I'll have it in the mail by late afternoon. |

Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by skipkb on 11/14/12 at 19:49:24 the pedestal the mirror mounts in did indeed survive. the new problem is i have the new bracket installed but I cannot for the life of me get the broken off piece of the old bracket off of the mirror pedestal. i have a mirror, a pedestal, and a pesky piece of the old braket that just refuses to come off. I think it might of got warped in the accident. anyone got a mirror for sale? I think its my only choice... |
Title: Re: need replace right mirror Post by justin_o_guy2 on 11/14/12 at 19:52:50 Im confused.. yea, I know,, it is waay too easy to do, but, how will a new mirror solve the problem if theres something in the way, keeping you from screwing a morror in? |
