Title: Seat lift mod with a twist !
Post by Scott.aust on 10/13/12 at 00:36:21

I just finished my seat lift mod, which would of only taken 10 minutes but ended up taking 2 hours just trying different things to suit me. Same principal as everyone else has done but i also lifted the back of the tank. I used nolathane car shock abdorber bushes which were 20mm thick. I took out the original rubbers and put one shock bush under the tank, put the steel spacer tube in there and one above the tank mount. So remove 15mm of rubber and add 40mm of new bush to give 25mm or 1 inch of lift. By doing it this way the tank and seat seem to look right to me. At the same time I also turned the handle bar risers around 180 degrees. This put the bars forward maybe an inch and I set the bar ends slightly higher too so all up maybe 2 inches higher. Just doing this has made such a huge change in comfort for me, might not work for everyone but I thought I would share for others to think about.

Oh and the bushes cost $15 and bolts $3.50 so all up under $20 !!! ( and the dark blue is not noticeable unless you know what you are looking for )
