Title: Rear Fender Post by Riggsja on 10/10/12 at 12:26:26 Hey guys, I purchased the trailer fender from Northern Tool that was brought up earlier in past posts, to make my own rear fender for my '96 bobber project. Now I am at a dilemma, I am going to cut the fender to fit only over the top of the tire. Only problem is I have absolutely no idea how to bend a piece of 1/8" steel that is 7" wide to curve over the tire. Any ideas??! |
Title: Re: Rear Fender Post by Serowbot on 10/10/12 at 12:31:55 If the edges are curved,.. you can't... The curve needs to be made beforehand... You need the buy the correct dimension from the factory, where they use powerful presses to shape the metal... :-?... |

Title: Re: Rear Fender Post by Demin on 10/11/12 at 06:41:49 Do you mean narrowing it or just shortening it?Cut it to the length you want and run it.I think I used to use part #1263 fenders.I usually run a 150 tire, but they work with the 140 too. http://p1.bikepics.com/2008/05/23/bikepics-1298489-800.jpg http://p1.bikepics.com/2011/08/16/bikepics-2257982-800.jpg This one is from Tractor supply.Put it on as is no mods. http://p1.bikepics.com/2012/08/15/bikepics-2442526-full.jpg |

Title: Re: Rear Fender Post by Demin on 10/15/12 at 12:21:51 I'm running struts on this one.You could run shocks but you would have to make the sissybar come off of the frame.I have this one mounted right to the axle. |
