1984 Suzuki 650

Looks to be a rather rare Suzuki "Tempter"

truth is... I like that style of bike even better than our beloved Savage

Still doesn't look as good as the Honda's of older vintage.

Yeah, there's a reason my CB500K2 is still in pieces in the garage...

I used to ride a chain driven GS750T. Really hard to get the carbs initially synched but after that it was smooth sailing. Unless I needed parts, only dealer around here who would touch an air-cooled is an hour plus away. I did have it fixed at the antique BMW specialist in Sturgis MS when the tach drive fell out of the head at a rally... ended up dropping it (oil coated rear tire) on his polished concrete floor...

They are decent enough bikes. Want a real challenge? I've got a fairly uncommon old Honda parallel twin here you might be able to talk me out of... But good luck finding parts, a used front fender costs more than the bike's MSRP...

Hey ... I met that guy!!
I forget his name... but they called him something that started with "V" as best i can recall. "Vorch.. Vech.. something". He was down here in Jackson MS for a meeting, and I rode up on my Savage. He spent an hour convincing me I needed to find an old BMW.

My anti-virus blocked the second link as having malicious content.

And why would I want one anyways? There are lots of bikes out there you can bet I don't own but nor would I ever want them.  It's not a single, if that's what you were thinking.

Vetch, great person and knows a lot more than just antique BMWs (even though he is considered a world authority on them). His shop usually hosts one of the camping areas for the L'il Sturgis Rally. Used to have his mechanics there doing free emergency repairs during the rally too.

You want a tempter seat ? I have a mint one ... I am experimenting with a flat track type seat on it ... Mine is near mint, it has a steel pan ... I can measure it etc if you want to know what you would need to fit it.
I can in fact send you the hacked off tail section I cut off a different GR.

Anyway 4 carbs are not an issue, synch yes needed, but its a few min job when you have the carbs out.
The GR 650 is a darn fine and rare bike. But I have a bunch of those ... cos the GR motor will fit in the engine bay of a GS500. I have a few in process.

Cool.
Srinath.
