Title: Won't Start Post by paramedic9004 on 09/16/12 at 14:50:12 Went to take a spin today and after disconnecting the batter tender, I pulled the bike out of the shop. Turned fuel on Waited about 10 seconds Cranked...cranked...cranked Oops. forgot choke...cranked cranked cranked. Nothing. Push choke in. repeated the above...nothing. Last time I rode was 2 weeks. Pulled plug. Rather dirty...went to clean it up...tossed it and grabbed a new one. Changed plug repeat....nothing. Checked for fuel flow from tank - fine What should I start with? 06 K&N Filter (cone) Raptor Petcock |

Title: Re: Won't Start Post by verslagen1 on 09/16/12 at 17:10:21 wouldn't crank if it were the kill switch or kickstand/neutral or clutch safeties. with your tossed plug against the head and plugged in, check for spark. check for fuel, open drain with a clear line on it, hold the bike vertical and set the petcock to prime, should come up the bowl gasket or close to it. and then lets some drain into a gas can to see how well it flows. (see there... combined 2 tests in 1 ;D ) then check for air... got any? :-? how white is the air filter? is it wet? |
Title: Re: Won't Start Post by Cavi Mike on 09/16/12 at 17:32:56 Spray some starter-fluid into the carb. If it fires, it's a fuel problem. If it doesn't, it's a spark problem. Get back to us after that so we're not shooting in the dark. |
