In all my time here it never occured to me that a 3 dimensional cube shares the same perimeter as a 2g hexagon.

Not to put too fine a point on it but that is not a 3D cube- It is a hexagon..
By stretching the imagination it could be a cube (which is a 3D figure) rendered in 2D. Apples to oranges.

Those things are pretty neat!  makes you wonder how they made corn mazes before GPS.  here's one we're going to visit in a couple weeks

That was probably a typo. I'm pretty sure he meant 2d as-in 2 dimensional. A hexagon, which is a 2d object, can be made to look like a drawing of a 3d cube by adding three simple lines.

Yea, 2d.
I'm on another forum where we refer to our cars as 1g's or 2g's for 1st generations and 2nd generations and probably typed that on autopilot.

I shoulda figured it out thru context,, Buut, I didnt,, I really have a better sense of how to draw a 3 D cube now, thanks to your observation.
